convolutions
depth
base width
Every map is drawn to scale: its height is its spatial size and its width its number of channels. Point at a level to light its skip and see what the decoder concatenates there. Under valid convolutions each 3 × 3 convolution trims a pixel from every side, so the encoder's map is larger than the decoder's and the hatched border is cropped away before the copy.
