“Visualising African Societies with Data” is focussed on the use of graphs and maps to visualise data focussed on Africa and African development. Students will learn how to present data reflecting the social, economic, geographic condition of societies in a way that enhances narratives and analysis.
The course leverages opensource statistical and GIS software like R and QGiS. While no prior experience in statistical or spatial analysis is required familiarity with R is an advantage.
